Department of Energy Office Installs Photo Exhibit

The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management in Grand Junction, Colorado, has installed an exhibit at Grand Junction City Hall. The exhibit of historical photographs marks the 75th anniversary of the office’s role in the Manhattan Project to develop an atomic bomb and the subsequent Cold War.

Included are photos of Grand Junction and its residents during World War II, through the uranium boom and cleanup efforts. A Babbel Counter, a radiological survey instrument developed and manufactured in Grand Junction, and other items are also displayed.

The exhibit will remain on display through October 10 in the City Hall lobby at 250 North Fifth Street The lobby is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays.
