The St Neots town centre has everything you would expect, from shops and pharmacies to housing and busy streets. But just a short walk away from the town centre is a haven for wildlife where you can escape the fast-paced urban life.

Riverside Park covers 72 acres and follows the River Great Ouse for a mile. Much more than pretty views, this park also has some fascinating attractions including a miniature railway.

Looked after by Huntingdonshire District Council, the park is mainly a floodplain, with the stunning River Great Ouse running directly through it. Flocks of geese settle on Regatta Meadow on the river bank and a beautiful mile-long waterside frontage can be followed by a footpath. Right next to Riverside Park, you can also find a small conservation area called Sudbury Meadow.

Open to the public at all times, it's a beautiful place to relax and watch the wildlife. The meadow has a footpath to follow and information boards about the shrubs that are growing there. The meadow can be accessed by a kissing gate from Regatta Meadow in the park.

Riverside Park is only a short walk from St Neots town centre and can be accessed by foot via a pedestrian bridge over the river.

But the park also has some rather interesting attractions including the largest skateboarding complex in the district and its very own miniature railway.

Riverside Railway is a model engineering and miniature railway club, operating as an inclusive, sustainable, community railway project. The railway opens to the public on Sunday afternoons throughout the summer season from Easter to October and Wednesdays throughout the Cambridgeshire school summer holidays.

A café and kiosk at the park also serves light refreshments during the day. There is parking for 250 cars and further parking for 70 cars is available off Hardwick Road. Close by there is a children’s play area and three more situated around the park.
